So I'm moving to a new house, how can I paint my room with all my furniture in stuff alredy moved in?

May 19th, 2012

you can out all of your furniture in the center of the room you are painting and cover it with plastic so nothing will be damaged and leave it in the center of your room until everything is dry 4 years ago This makes sense & a good idea!

Do I have to wash walls to paint a room?

May 19th, 2012

A paint job without proper prep work is a waste of time. Scrape off any crud, fill in nail holes, scrub any greasy stained spots… and then yes, you need to wash the walls.Washing the walls doesn't take that long, a rag mop and a bucket of diluted bleach gets it done real quick. 5 years ago A lot of good answers but this one was nice and basic…thanks!

What color to paint a my room?

- Chosen by Voters I personally think a light yellow. A gray, black would make the room look too dark. but a lighter/ natural color will open up the room good luck! 3 months ago 100% 1 Vote

What paint colour can make this room less boring?

Try this personal color viewer. You can paint a sample photo or upload your own picture. It looks as if you have plenty of light and with your furniture, I would choose a warm red or warm green. I don't know what else is going on in your room but I would try to center your sofa on your wall and have the two chairs facing it to have a better conversational area. If you put a nice piece of artwork over the sofa first then you will be better able to choose a paint color. You need a brown tone. Don't use a white tone color (pastels). It will make your space feel cooler if you feel it isn't sunny enough. If you don't want to add color, then stick with a beige wall color. Add some lamps for ambient lighting. Source(s): I am a color consultant. 2 years ago Thank you!

How do I paint over chipped paint without having to scrape the entire room?

May 18th, 2012

If the existing paint and plaster is solid, you can spackle over the missing paint. You can sand the spackling smooth when it's dry, or you can use a damp sponge or cloth to wipe it when it's almost dry. It's a bit of an art to get it smooth, but it's not too difficult. If you wipe it down too much, don't worry – you can just add more spackle to it, and start again. 4 years ago Sounds like the general concensus is to spackle, sand, prime and paint. Works for me!

What color should I paint my living room walls to match red furniture?

May 17th, 2012

- Chosen by Voters play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/I think a green like "picnic" (# 6731) would contrast the red & make it POP!You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:http://www.roomvues.com/You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like. 3 years ago 100% 1 Vote

Paint ideas to make room look spacious?

May 17th, 2012

- Chosen by Voters I find that continuous flow in a room makes it appear bigger, when you have too many colours, patterns or stuff you break up the room, including ceilings and floors. So you don't necessarily have to use light colours of paint you just have to choose your colours carefully.Choose curtains or blinds the same or very close to wall colour for a continuous flow. Paint built-in or shelves same or close to wall colour.Use larger pieces of art instead of several small pieces for a less cluttered look.Try a glass coffee table or end tables for the feeling of more space.
